How it works

Four steps. Zero trust required between strangers.

SeatLock sits between the buyer and seller. We never hold the ticket — that stays in your account on the original platform — but we hold the money until the transfer is verified.

Step 1

Find each other off SeatLock

Connect with a buyer or seller wherever you normally would — Facebook Marketplace, Reddit, your group chat, a friend. SeatLock doesn't find you a counterparty; it starts once you've already agreed on a deal.

Step 2

Seller creates trade, buyer pays

Seller creates a trade with seat info and price, then shares the 6-letter code with the buyer. Buyer joins with the code and deposits the funds — held in SeatLock escrow, not paid to the seller yet.

Step 3

Transfer the tickets

Seller transfers the tickets through their original platform (Ticketmaster, FIFA, etc.) to the per-trade SeatLock relay address shown on the trade. We forward them to the buyer once we've verified the transfer.

Step 4

We verify, you get paid

SeatLock's verification system confirms the transfer landed in the buyer's account, then releases funds to the seller after a 7-day dispute window.

The buyer's deposit stays in a SeatLock-held wallet (secured by Stripe) until we confirm the tickets actually moved. No transfer = no payout. Period.
